Obituary:

Hazel Hollar Moser, 82, of Claremont, died Monday, March 8, 2010 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Moser was born April 9, 1927 in Catawba County. She was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 60 years. Mrs. Moser loved to travel, and was happiest going back to the river on her pontoon boat.

In addition to her mother, Elsie Hollar, she was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Franklin Moser, and special friend, Guy Hoke.

Mrs. Moser is survived by her daughter, Regina Frederick and husband Stephen of Greensboro; granddaughter, Katherine Frederick of Greensboro; sister, Polly Carrigan of Hiddenite; brother, Kenneth Hollar of Claremont; brother-in-law, Charles Everett Moser and wife Nancy of Conover; special friend, Sue Hursey of Claremont; and several nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Claremont with Rev. William Hollar officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:15 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

The family would like to thank the special caregivers at Rock Barn Assisted Living; Abernethy Laurels; and Catawba Valley Medical Center for the care and compassion given to their mother.
