Born on August 2, 1931 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of Dewey Pinkney Ward and Bessie Franklin Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Vanhorn. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, David Greene; son, Rev. William Stockton and his wife, Dawn of Hickory; grandson, Christopher Stockton; nieces, MaryAnn Huffman, Sandra Fox, Vickie Fletcher and Dorothy Fairly; and nephew, Larry Gene Smith. A Service of Remembrance will be held 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home with the Reverend William Stockton officiating. Burial will follow at Conover City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
