Name: Robert Lee Ervin Date: November 20th, 1948 - March 7th, 2010 Obituary: Robert Lee Ervin, 61, of Claremont, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Brian Center-Viewmont, Hickory. He was born November 21, 1948 in Catawba County to Rachel Sharpe Ervin and the late Harvey G. Ervin. Mr. Ervin was a lifelong member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Catawba. He retired from Duke Energy, where he was in charge of reactor maintenance. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Ervin. Mr. Ervin is survived by a daughter, Shannon Sigmon and husband Rob of Claremont; son, Brandon Ervin and wife Tara of Catawba; grandchildren, Alicia and Carley Sigmon, and Nathan and Nicholas Ervin; sisters, Patricia Inman and husband Eugene of Claremont, and Joyce Hedrick of Catawba; and brother, Eugene Ervin and wife Janice of Catawba. A Service of Remembrance will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Gregory Alms officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery in Catawba. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
