Obituary:
John Adam Larue, 20, of Hickory, died unexpectedly Monday, March 1, 2010. Adam was born July 12, 1989 in Iredell County, son of John S. Larue, Jr. and Anita Lynne Severt Larue. He was a senior honors student at North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, NC.

Adam was Valedictorian of his graduating class at Tabernacle Christian School in Hickory in 2006. He was a standout athlete in baseball, football, basketball, wrestling and bodybuilding as he grew up. Adam has been a member of Open Door Baptist Church on Springs Road in Conover since he was six years old.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, John and Anita Larue, of the home, a sister, Nicole Larue, currently residing in Texas; his maternal grandparents, Odell and Ann Severt, of North Wilkesboro; aunts, Rose Church and Brenda Hall, of North Wilkesboro, Bonnie Parsons and husband Bob, of Millers Creek; uncle, Steve Severt of North Wilkesboro; and a number of cousins.

A service of remembrance will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Open Door
Baptist Church, on Springs Road, with Rev. Darrel Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
